What's the difference between our Standard and Mega Hair Claws?

    Our Standard Size Claws are roughly the size of your palm, and are made for majority of hair types and textures. The super strong springs can handle nearly anyones hair! They are also great for half-up hair styles.

    Mega claws are roughly the size of your hand! Big hair calls for a big claw: enjoy firm and sturdy grip that holds even the fullest heads of hair with our Mega Hair Claws! They are specifically designed to hold super thick hair, really long or curly hair, and braids or locs! They are larger and wider, allowing them more room to grab onto the scalp.

Things to Consider:

Attaching to your Hair

How you attach the hair claw to your head is SUPER important! We always recommend making sure your hair claw is attached securely to the scalp. Best practice is to have the claw fully around your hair, and with both sets of teeth attached as close to the scalp on the crown of your head as possible.

Claw Weight

The main thing to consider is the weight of the hair claws. Our standard size claws are about 1.5 ounces, and the Mega claws are about 3 ounces. While it may not sound like a lot, that amount of weight makes a big difference in your hair! This is why the Mega Claws work best for people with thick, curly, extra long, or braided hair. If the Mega Claw does not have enough hair to hold on to, the weight of it may cause it to slip out of the hair. If this happens to you, we recommend exchange to the Standard size of that hair claw design!

Design Shape

The shape and size of each claw design also will determine how it holds your hair. Designs like the Cursor or Calculator are on the smaller side, but are just as sturdy! Designs such as the Legal Pad or Eyeball are a bit wider, and thus will hold slightly more hair than other designs. We recommend keeping this in mind when selecting your hair claw! 

Same goes for the Mega Claws! Designs like the Mega Brain or Mega Spreadsheet are very wide, and work best for those with a lot of hair. The Mega Film Reel or Mega Crawfish Claw are still quite large, but are less wide, so work just fine with the majority of hair!

Hair Type

Is your hair really thick? Is it really curly, or really long? Do you have braids or locs? Do you just have a LOT of hair?

A Mega Claw is likely the better option for you!

Would you call your hair "average" in terms of texture, length, or thickness? Or is it a little thinner? Or is it pretty straight or fine?

A Standard Claw will likely work best for you!
